Working with professionals

Research has shown that around 30% of refugees bring professional skills and experience to the UK.

The Trellis Project is active in promoting the employment of refugee professionals. The DWP strategy on refugee employment 'Working to Rebuild Lives' states that refugee professionals are a key group requiring specialist help. They need support with:

  • Recognition of their qualifications
  • Gaining work experience
  • English language study
  • Adapting to the specific requirements of UK professions

The Trellis Project works with a number of agencies and organisations to build on this important work.
