MentoringMentoring is one of the most effective ways of overcoming the difficulties and barriers faced by refugees in the UK The Trellis Project has partnered with Time Together, a refugee integration project that matches UK citizens in one-to-one relationships with refugees. Time Together mentors help refugees to feel more at home in the UK by sharing their knowledge and experience and offering friendship. Mentors support, encourage, motivate and guide their mentee as they seek to achieve their goals in education, employment and integration. Since its launch in Birmingham in April 2006, the Time Together programme has matched 36 refugees with a volunteer mentor.
