Working directly with refugee job-seekers

‘We feel a real sense of accomplishment and pride when one of our clients finds work’

Trellis Link Officer Arian Taugozi

Individual support

The Trellis Link Officers work directly with every one of our clients to complete a full work-readiness assessment and develop an individually-tailored action plan charting their route into work.

Our Link Officers provide free and impartial employment information, advice and guidance, and direct clients to the most appropriate support programme, training course, language class, or work placement scheme.

They can match clients with the right employment opportunity and help them update their CV, fill in application forms, or prepare for interviews.

Specialist Staff

Our Link Officers are fully-trained and qualified career advisors, have an expert knowledge of the Birmingham labour market, and are themselves former refugees. They have experienced first-hand many of the challenges that refugee job-seekers face and can provide culturally-sensitive support in nine community languages, including Arabic, Kurdish, Farsi, Dari, French, Somali, Pidgin, Lingala and Kikongo.

If you are a refugee and would like to register with the Trellis Project, please call us on 0121 480 3867 or download our registration form here and mail it to the following address:
